I'm working on a dopey personal project and it requires me to dig through this year's archive. In doing so, I ran into this photo which I liked a lot but never worked in post because it was severely underexposed and noisy.

I ran it through the ol' Photoshoop last night and this is the end result. Me happy now.

And just in time for Labor Day, because this photo was laborious.

FIGURE DESCRIPTION: The McFarlane® HALO™ REACH™ is the latest release and newest version of HALO™ series of action figures. These are newly sculpted and probably have the best built, tooling, and mold compared to its predecessor, HALO™ 3 series, since no part of its body are most likely shared thereafter. HALO™ REACH™ is now based on a 6-inch scale and therefore appear larger overall from the earlier HALO™ 3 series. The details and overall sculpt of the new HALO™ REACH™ action figures is dramatically better. Thanks to a new 3D graphics engine and meticulous artistic revision of the new characters by the developers of the game (i.e. BUNGIE), McFarlane® can only recreate a new sculpt based on what is given to them in utmost proper detail. This is the perfect collaboration of game designers and toy makers in the manufacturer of fully articulated, pose-able, and highly detailed action figures.

IN THIS ALBUM: This is NOBLE SIX, the basic playable character of the game. NOBLE SIX sports a MJOLNIR MARK V basic armor. The complete packaging for NOBLE SIX includes an MA37 individual combat weapon assault rifle and a fragmentation grenade; the magnum pistol was “borrowed” from one of my HALO™ 3 action figures. Observe the new details of this figure; the girth is better and more prominent, one can fully attest that the physique of a SPARTAN-III soldier is indeed enhanced. The details of the weapons as well as armor pieces are detailed to the maximum, one can easily visualize shut lines, perforations, creases and folds; the articulation joints have been improved with hinge type joints replacing the ball and socket joints from HALO™ 3 action figures.

VERDICT: . Personally, I would suggest to any action figure and/or HALO™ video game fan to purchase at least one of the many, now and upcoming series of HALO™ REACH™ action figures from McFarlane! You will not be disappointed! On the other hand, with a revised and resculpted action figure such as this, one can only think if there is a way for McFarlane to recreate the MASTER CHIEF from HALO: COMBAT EVOLVED. If the license of which can be repurchased from JOY RIDE and then reapply the new MARK V design and details from HALO REACH to the MASTER CHIEF from HALO: COMBAT EVOLVED, wouldn’t that be an excellent piece of artwork?
